Zambia U20 Women’s national team have been booted out of the 2020 Costa Rica/Panama World Cup qualifiers following 2-2 draw away in South Africa.
Zambia traveled to South Africa looking to overturn a 2-0 scoreline from the first leg.
Coach Charles Haalubono made two changes to his line up, bringing in Rhoda Nakanyika and Bertha Imponene for injured Thelma Phiri and Towera Nkhata who dropped to the bench.

The young Copper Queens started strong and went ahead just three minutes into the match Siomela Mapepa with a long-range effort.

South Africa quickly reorganized and started pushing for an equalizer. Captain Sibulele Holweni came close nine minutes later but Anna Mukumbuta was equal to the task.
Basetsana finally pulled level in the 18th minute, Chelsea Joy Daniels, with a close-range finish. In the second half, it was attacked after attack from one end to the other.
Ochumba Oseke Lubanji put the Young Copper Queens back in the lead 13 minutes to time but South Africa leveled matters just four minutes later second-half Substitute Zethembizo Vilakazi with the goal.
2-2 the match ended, South Africa win the tie 4-2 on aggregate and progress to the next round.
Basetsana will face Botswana who thrashed Namibia 9-0 on aggregate to progress to the second round.
