The Alanya Women’s Tournament (The Turkish Women’s Cup) is scheduled to go ahead as planned, the ZamFoot Crew understands.
However, hosts Turkey and South American side Venezuela have withdrawn from the tournament.
With the new set up now one group will consist of six teams namely Kosovo, North Macedonia, Jordan, Hong Kong, Estonia, and Bulgaria
A second group will consist of four teams at the present time playing two games each: Slovenia, Uzbekistan, South Africa and Zambia
Copper Queens head coach Bruce Mwape has named a strong squad led by skipper Barbra Banda.
At the Turkish Women’s Cup, Zambia will now open their campaign against Slovenia on 18th February at the Miracle Sport Complex.
The tournament is being played on a round-robin basis and the Copper Queens will play their second and final match against Uzbekistan on 21st February at the Miracle Sports Complex.
Zambia is using the Turkish Cup as part of preparation for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup which kicks off in July.
The Copper Queens are in Group C alongside Spain, Costa Rica and Japan.
