Trident FC midfielder Beby Onka Musangala has been crowned as the 2022/2023 ABSA Cup player of the tournament following his impressive showing in the quarter finals and the semis.
The 21 year old was impressive with his silky skills as he mesmerised the crowd at Kitwe’s Arthur Davies Stadium in the semi-finals.
Despite Trident suffering a 1-0 defeat to Maestro United Zambian Academy, Muza in the semi final, the Congolese tricky winger walked home with the ZMK15,000 rich man of the match award.
That was his consecutive man of the match award following his spending showing in the 2-1 win over Green Eagles in the quarter finals.
Forest Rangers duo of Daniel Mutshinemu and Cephas Mulombwa were named goalkeeper and top goalscorer of the tournament.
Forest Rangers beat FC MUZA 2-0 in the final to win the ABSA Cup title thanks to an own goal from Chanda Chileshe and a Quadri Kola strike.
Forest Rangers became the ninth team to win the ABSA cup since its inception in 2007.
ZESCO United have won the most Barclays Cup/ABSA Cup titles, six.
