TIMES: WALTER DISAPPEARED FROM CONGO WITHOUT CLEARANCE!
■Lubumbashi Sports president Kalunga Mpiana tells Times of Zambia that Walter went AWOL from the former Zaire.
Kalunga Mpiana says Walter’s real names are Heriter Binene Sabwa and that the Nkana striker’s parents are both CONGOLESE.
“Binene run away and went to Zambia himself without transfer from the team, ” Mpiana claimed.
“Binene (Walter) is Congolese and both parents are from here (Congo). His father is a pastor and his name is Binene and his mother’s name is Ngoie.”
Walter played for Corboux and Lubumbashi Stars between 2010 and 2012.
He was registered by the DR Congo FA as Heriter Binene Sabwa before joining Forest Rangers who sold him to Nkana.
Walter claims his father is Zambian while his mom is Congolese.

If the guy was born in Europe with Zambian parents we would have no issue claiming him as a bonafide Zambian. But since it is Congo we are talking about, we are applying a double standard. Last I checked, all that is needed to qualify for to be a Zambia is simply having one parent who is a Zambian regardless of where you are born. Why are we so hell bent on destroying one another like this? This is very sad at best….
Logic, the article claims that both his parents are Congolese. In which case he would not be automatically eligible for Zambian citizenship unless he was naturalized by some other way. I do not know immigration law in Zambia to even speculate on what other criteria exists.
He issued a statement last week saying one of his parents if not both are Zambian. Nevertheless, this issue seems to have taken a life of it’s own based on the success of the guy, which I think is very sad
We should not tolerate cheating in football. Any player who does that anywhere would be heavily punished even by life ban. I have always supported Nkana, but on this one, they goofed because they did not do a thorough investigation more so on a player coming from DRC.
Congo is a war zone so he can can claim political Asylum and let him fix his Zambian papers, its not the kid has been dealing with drugs or killed anyone. The boy just wants to play, so let him play ball. Chinese and Indians are screwing up Zambia and y’all keep quiet. He provide competition for Zambia, so I say let him in the national team after giving him citizenship.
