The Zambian Premier League, also known as MTN Super League, held its 2024/25 season awards on the 30th of May at the Garden Court in Kitwe. Several talented players, coaches, and football officials who not only influenced the gameplay this season but also the online betting experience of fans were among the top nominees. Top awards were contested competitively, forcing some to be shared among contenders.
The Player of the Year award nominees were Mumba and Tembo from Power Dynamos, and Siakombo from Zesco United. Young stars Simukonda, Phiri, and Kanda were contending for the Young Player of the Year award.
The head coaches of Power Dynamo, Nkana FC, and Zesco United squared it out for the Coach of the Year award. And finally, Chansa of Dynamos and Ilunga Mbombo of Nkana were eyeing the Top Scorer of the Year award, each having scored 13 goals.
There were plenty of other awards, including the Golden Glove, Center Referee and Assistant Referee of the Season, Journalist of the Season, Club Media of the Seasons and the Fan of the Season, to appreciate the loyalty of fans to the league.

The New Season
Even as talents and skills were celebrated in the Awards ceremony, expectation is high for the next season. The league is becoming very competitive with a small margin between top leaders in the table. There was only a 5 point difference between Power Dynamos, Zesco United, and Nkana FC, the top three leaders.
This shows how the nominees and award winners’ list will change come next season. Nkana FC, Red Arrows and Kabwe Warriors are staged to give the likes of Power Dynamos a run for their money. However, it will all come down to how each team prepares itself during this off season.
Conclusion
The Zambian Premier League is becoming one of the major leagues in Southern Africa. The 2025/26 season is expected to be more competitive as teams improve on their coaching and playing skills. Expect all actions on Betway, including team updates and fixtures.
