Week eight of the MTN/FAZ Super League came with alot of exciting encounters and great Performances from players. The Zamfoot crew have compiled the team of the week recognising stand out perfomers from the weekend.
GK- Josua Titima, The power Dynamos goalkeeper came from the bench and made a last minute penalty save to make sure Power walked away with a point from Lumwana.
LB- Boyd Mkandawire, The Napsa Stars defender put in an impressive performance despite being on the losing end. He was also on hand to assist Luka Lungu’s equaliser.
RB- George Mutanda, The Nakambala defender put in a good show to help his team keep a clean sheet against Nchanga Rangers.
CB- Loius Musonda, The Lumwana Radiants defender put in a good show on his debut and helped his team keep a clean sheet against Powerful Power Dynamos.
CB- George Chilufya, The Zanaco man kept the Zesco United sharp strikeforce at bay. Was outstading for Zanaco on the day.
Special mention: Joseph Ochaya and Ilunga Lenga were fantastic for their clubs.
CM-Moses Siyanda, The Nakambala midfielder was on top of his game helping Nakambala to a one nil win.
CM- William Njobvu, The former Zambia U20 international played a very good game and scored a goal to help National Assembly beat New Monze Swallows by three goals to nil.
LWM- George Chaloba, From scoring a brace last week the Parliamentarian midfielder assisted all the three goals scored by National Assembly in their three nil win over Swallows. He is the only player to have showed consistency to retain his place in the team of the week after an appearance in week 7.
RWM- Portipher Zulu, The former Zanaco midfielder was impressive and scored for Buildcon in their draw away in Kabwe.
CF- Heritier Nkoko, The Kabwe Warriors huge center forward was again on target for the people’s team and had a good game overall.
CF- Chris Mugalu, The Lusaka Dynamos star striker found the back of the net three times as his team dismantled Kabwe Youth Sports Academy by four goals to nil.
Player of the week
Chris Mugalu’s hatrick, the first of the league this season earns him the Zamfoot player of the week ahead of National Assembly’s George Chaloba.
Coach of the week
George Lwandamina, The former National team head coach made his return to the touchline for Zesco United and managed to record a one nil win over Zanaco away at Sunset Stadium.
