The MTN/FAZ Super League is quicklyicing towards the business end of things with the table quickly taking shape. Performances from individual players have also improved tremendously making it hard to pick stand out players.
However the Zamfoot crew is determined to rise above such a welcome challenge and once again bring you the team of the week (Week 26).
TEAM OF THE WEEK
GK- Reagan Kalobota of Nakambala Leopards kept Nkwazi FC from scoring in Mazabuka keeping a clean sheet. He made a number of saves including a last minute finger tip save from a freekick but only edged out Lawrence Mulenga of Power dynamos who also had a good day despite conceding the only goal of the game in the dying minutes.
LB- Stephen Kabamba the Green Buffaloes left back put in decent shift and managed to also chip in with a goal.
RB- Gideon Sichone another GBFC asset was on top of his game stopping most of Lusaka dynamos attacks on the right wing.
CB- Levy Makungu the Kitwe United defensive kingpin popularly known as successor has continued to make his mark and last weekend was no different as he put in another wonderful showing.
CB- Adrian Chama the GBFC defender was another stand out performer over the weekend with successful last ditch tackles and interceptions.
DMF- Linos Makwaza Jnr the Power dynamos youngster controlled the game and gave the Red Arrows midfield a very big challenge it was just a pity he found himself on the losing end.
CM- Harrison Chisala the Nkana midfielder put in an excellent showing against Zanaco and was even voted as the fans man of the match . He also opened the scores as Nkana cruised to a four two win.
LW- Diamond Chikwekwe the GBFC winger is among the best in his position in the league and made sure Lusaka dynamos worked on the day. He was full of energy as usual keeping the Lusaka dynamos defense on their toes and also scored a goal.
RW- Websiter Muzaza the Forest Rangers jersey number 10 was in a different zone over the weekend maybe because of the national team call up. He was a menace in the Warriors defense and also scored one of goals.
CF- Walter Bwalya on his return from mourning his mother the Nkana captain put in a decent shift and managed to score a goal.
CF-Joseph Phiri the Red Arrows youngster popped up with a screamer in the dying minutes to earn Chisi Mbewe his first win as caretaker coach.
Player of the week – Joseph Phiri, The youngster grabbed the match by the scruff of the neck and managed to score the only goal of the game hence he wins this week’s player of the week.
Coach of the week – Chisi Mbewe, First win in his first win as caretaker coach and against a big team like Power dynamos.
