The stage is set for an intense encounter at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe as Mutondo Stars host Nkana at 15:00hrs in a Week 24 MTN Super League clash. Interim coach Elijah Tana has sounded the battle cry, declaring his troops ready for the challenge ahead.
“First and foremost, the guys are ready for the game tomorrow. Everyone has pushed,” Tana said in a pre-match interview.
Tana admitted that the previous result came “by the grace of God” but stressed that football is about determination and fighting for results. He has since urged his players to approach the match with confidence and enjoy the occasion.
“My players are ready. I told them to enjoy the game,” he said.
Nkana head into the fixture on the back of a 2-0 home win over Konkola Blades in their previous outing.
Tana also praised Mutondo Stars, warning his players not to underestimate their opponents.
“Mutondo are playing well. They’ve got a very good side. It’s a team you can’t underrate. It will be a good game,” he added.
Nkana currently sit 11th on the MTN Super League table with 28 points, having recorded two wins and three defeats in their last five matches. Mutondo Stars are 14th with 25 points and head into the contest unbeaten in their last eight games, setting up what promises to be a competitive encounter in Kitwe.
