The Nigerian national football team has left Nigeria for Zambia where the two teams will play in a 2018 Russia World Cup qualifier match.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed the development.
The Super Eagles left Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Friday evening and are expected in Ndola late Saturday afternoon.
Speaking just before the teams departure NFF President Amaju Pinnick thanked his government for facilitating the teams travel.
“Now, we have money to pay the outstanding bonuses and allowances of the players and team officials and we have no problem fulfilling our part of the bargain for this match.
“I want to also appreciate our Sponsors, especially Supersport. We were able to pay for the chartered flight from the sponsorship fee they paid, and take care of a number of logistics.
“As we fly out to Ndola, we want to also thank all football –loving Nigerians for their huge support all the time and we ask for their prayers for success for the Super Eagles on Sunday,” said Pinnick.
Instead of the scheduleday 1430hrs, Nigeria will have a feel of the Levy Nwanawasa Stadium turf late afternoon afternoon the Chipolopolo complete their last training session.
Zambia play Nigeria at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in a game that will kick off at 1430hrs.
