Sunzu sees red as Lille draw

Just when Stopilla Sunzu seems to have cemented his place in Herve Renard’s Lille team, he ended yesterday’s game with a disastrous red card with Lille drawing 1 – 1 away against Guingamp.

Sunzu was again named in Lille’s starting line-up but he didn’t start the day well conceding a yellow card in the 11th minute.

Lille were the first to score in the 30th minute but conceded three minutes later.

With the game headed for a draw, Sunzu went in with a tackle adjudged to be crude and the referee booked him again in the 89th minute as he headed for an early shower.

Referee H Ben El Hadj flashed five yellow cards against Lille in the game.

The draw sees Sunzu’s team drop to 13th with 11 points from 10 games.

  2. this is a team that finishes in the lofty parts of the table but with herve its the usual lack of results. herve doesnt deserve to even coach in france hes achieved nothing in life on his own

  3. @lushaka yes they dont, thats why they dnt play chan and all of their players play in europe,SA,ASIA etc…Lille have a good 18 year south african striker, been scoring goals for their B team….they should try him,Lebo Mothibi

  4. Zamfoot, do you call 89th minute early shower? Well its good Sunzu is exerting some energy. l dont knpwhim tobe a rough tackler but L would be happy if Zamfoot can also give out a wrap the African Players in the team. My interest is in Yaw Yeboah

  5. Abram have you ever coached anyteam before.why are you pesimistic all the time? Why do do hate our able coach lwandamina.are you are a mozambican or a zambian.why do you use a hate speech all time.

  6. Y do zamfoot bloggers hate HR so much? It was not his fault that Sunzu was red carded & LOSC LILE wont be religated like SOACHOAZ last season. HR just need to shapen his front line in January; he needs Winston Kalengo lol.

  7. MOZAMBIQUE coach Helder ‘Mano Mano’ Muianga says his side is capable of overturning the defeat it suffered to Zambia in the first leg of the 2016 African Nations Championship qualifiers on Saturday.

Goals from Winston Kalengo, debutant Conlyde Luchanga and Spencer Sautu at the Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola gave Chipolopolo a three-goal cushion ahead of the return leg scheduled for Maputo this weekend.

The Mambas would need to score four unanswered goals or win 3-0 to take the game to extra time and possibly penalties to qualify to next year’s tournament in Rwanda.
In an interview, Muianga acknowledged that the match will be very difficult but insisted that his team could score three goals at home just like Zambia did.

“We did not expect to lose by three [goals]. After we watched the 45 minutes that we played in the first half, we were expecting something different…and I think our guys did very well. But you know football, when you play and you don’t score, sometimes it turns against you,” he said.

Muianga said the first goal in the 77th minute invigorated Zambia’s players and with the home supporters behind them, they managed to score another two goals.

“I think the first two goals that we conceded were the killer. The third goal I think it was a special moment for that boy (Sautu); it was a wonderful goal. But it’s not the end of the world, we still have 90 minutes at home,” he said.

“We are going to try, we are a little bit confident because the way we played here. I was impressed and if we play the same way at home with our support, we will try and change things. Looking at the record we have against Zambia, we know that it is tough but we have got 90 minutes, we are going to do our best to try and equalise,” said Muianga.

“If Zambia could score three goals in eight minutes, we still have 90 minutes to try. It is going to be crucial but we’ll see if we can have a goal in the first half and then see about the other two. We’ll try and equalise and see how it goes.

  8. Mozambique is not Zambia. Zambia is far ahead of Mozambique. Just because Zambia scored 3 goals in 14 minutes does not mean they can score 3 or 4 goal in 90 minutes. However our players need not be complacent. They should be careful; If anything they should try and score that killer away goal to kill off the game. Mozambique is our daily bread.

  9. I am shocked Zambians are so excited over a useless win against weak team in the name of mozambique. We should be more worried about what will happen if we fail to contain Congo in the afcon qualifiers. Chan is a useless tournament only to be used to expose new talent. Talk of serious issues please not mozambique and chan

    • Which team do you want to talk of? This is a tournament Zambia is playing at the moment, and with Mozambique. We can’t talk about tournaments we are not playing. We will talk about world cup with Sudan during that time. Who are you to stop people from talking about Chan? Is this your site? Keep quiet if you have nothing to say, or just continue attending to your dental patients.

  10. i gree with john we shud think of beating big teams like egypt, ghana, nigeria, mali, cape verde, senegal, congo brazzaville, sudan, algeria, morocco, tunisia, lvory coast, cameroon DRC,togo etc not celebrating after beating minows. just wait u wil see what wil happen in khartoum, sudan. 2018 w/cup qulifier, it wil be an early exite. to join minows like djibout, seychelles, mauritius, lesotho, etc.

    • If you are not grateful in small things you will never be grateful in big things. The teams you’ve mentioned most of them we have played them and beaten them. So what is your point? Yes we are going through a bad patch at the moment, but you should appreciate the little good the team is doing. It is said that “A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step”. Lao Tzu.

  11. I am shocked at how Zambians are celebrating this victory. Is this not a team that has never beaten zambia in many years the win was routine. We are supposed to be crucifying lwandimina for his pathetic performance against Egypt. Can we be serious on focus on real issues not chan.

  12. Well said Billy…..shove it down the naysayers throats. We shouldn’t celebrate a victory just because its Chan? Ala!!!!

  13. Mr.Justice, there is a league in TOGO….its a 12 team league. the problem is the fact that its competed by cash striped teams and has been rated c+. hence their inability to compete in AFRICA. and on there issue of chan, its a decision taken by the FA for financial reasons and other issues……

  14. I agree with brother Billy. You guys are upset that people are celebrating beating small teams smdh.

If you haven’t noticed; it is the small teams that kept us from going to the World Cup 2014 or making it through the group phase in AFCON 2013. Instead of beating Lesotho, we drew with them in Maseru and also drew with a Sudan team made up of U23s in Ndola. That’s 4 pts dropped, and Ghana qualified by 4 pts. These were games we were supposed to win, but didn’t. Zambia would have gone to Kumasi only needing a draw to qualify.

I also have to say that Zambia played better football against Egypt at least when they had possession than in any of the AFCON 2015 matches. Losing to Egypt was not good, but this talk of beating big teams is crap. If Zambia can win the games that they are supposed to win, and get lucky away to a big team. We would have been at the world cup by now.
