Sunzu extends loan deal at Russian side

Chipolopolo Boys defender Stopilla Sunzu has extended his stay at Russian top flight side Arsenal Tula, the club has announced.

The big defender spent the second half of last season at Arsenal Tula and made an impression as he helped the club avoid the drop to the Division 1.

Sunzu made 13 appearances for Tula.

Early this week, French Ligue 1 side Lille’s Argentine coach Marcelo Bielsa has told Stopilla Sunzu that his services are no longer wanted.

The Argentine coach also told 10 other players including Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama to look for clubs.

The Chililabombwe born centre back still has 2 years remaining on his Lille contract.

Sunzu is being represented by Israel agent Nir Karin.

He is the third Zambian player in Russia. Chisamba Lungu has become a household name in Ekateringburg after his impressive showing for Ural while Fashion Sakala is with Spartak Moscow B-side.

The Russian Premier League will start early owing to next’s World Cup and Chisamba’s Ural will welcome Rostov at home on Saturday, 15th July while Sunzu have a date against Locomotive Moscow two days later.

Mean while another zambia striker by the name of Lewis macha has sign a two year deal with the south African premier league side baroka fc,Lewis macha was at kaizer chiefs last season but he was released because of his poor performance he just scored one goal the all season.whether this is a good move or not will wait and see because of late zambian players have find it difficult to command the starting line in the south African premier league
