FT: St. Etienne 0-1 FC Metz
FRANCE LIGUE 1|Stoppila Sunzu made a surprise start from the bench for the first time since the start of the 2019/20 French Ligue 1 season, before coming on as a substitute in the 71st minute as FC Metz defeated St Etienne 1-0 away this evening.
Senegalese striker Habib Mouhamadou Diallo scored the only goal of the game in the 19th minute.
The Chipolopolo defender has been featuring for 90minutes in all the last 6 round of matches, prior to tonight’s match.
Wednesday night’s FC Metz win was their first win in five matches ending a run of 4 consecutive defeats in the last 5 Ligue 1 matches.
It is because they lost the last 3 to 4 games with Sunzu in Central Defence. The coach had to find a solution. If Sunzu is not careful he will end up in Division 2 with another promotion chasing team. I am sure he will start on the bench in the next home game
I don’t think Sunzu has been playing alone at the back. I can’t judge him unless i have watched FC Metz games.
I hope he is not being used as scapegoat by the Coach.
