Three Zambian players were in action yesterday as football across the world continues to adapt to the new normal thanks to the new plague that is the deadly Coronavirus epidemic.
Chipolopolo defender Stophila Sunzu was on target while goal minder Kennedy Mweene put in an impressive full shift for Mamelodi Sundowns to record his second clean shift in two games.
In China, Sunzu scored a beautiful headed goal as Shijiazhuang Ever Bright gave up a 2-1 lead to draw 2-2 with Beijing Guoan. The goal was the former Lille, Sochaux, and Arsenal Tula defenders second of the season.
Sunzu put Ever Bright in the lead after 64 minutes before Cedric Bakumbu could level matters from the spot. Sunzu played 70 minutes in the match.
In South Africa, Kennedy Mweene was again between the sticks for the second game in a row as Mamelodi Sundowns went head to head with Kaizer Chiefs in an epic ABSA Premier League encounter.
‘Kapalaya’ put in a great shift proving that he is still in top form to help Sundowns defeat Chiefs 1-0. Gaston Sirino scored the only goal of the game in the 35th minute.
On the opposite end, Lazarus Kambole played the first 45 minutes before being withdrawn for Khama Billiat.
What PERFORMANCE from Mweene!👏😍😁
