Kenya National football team coach Sébastien Migné has summoned six Zambia Super League players in his 38 man provisional squad ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier against Ghana.
The Harambe will tussle the Black Stars at the MISC Kasarani on September 8, 2018, With victory a must for Migné’s side after they suffered a two one loss to Sierra Leone in their opening encounter.
Zesco United trio of striker Jesse Jackson Were, Anthony Akumu and David Owino have all been summoned. Were has been in fine form for Zesco United netting 13 times in the league and also been named ZSL Fans player of the month twice.
Owino has been ever reliable in the heart of defence while Akumu had a stint in defence putting in a decent shift for a few games in the absence of his country mate but has equally been a marvel to watch in his natural midfield role.
Others called up are Nkana new signing Musa Muhammed, Red Arrows goalkeeper Ian Otieno and Buildcon winger Clifton Miheso with the biggest absent being Buildcon talisman John Mark Makwatta .
Local based players will enter camp first on September 2, 2018, ahead of the tie, with their foreign-based counterparts scheduled to link up with the them starting the very next day.
