Singuluma inspires Mazembe to victory

Given Singuluma came off the bench to inspire Congolese giants TP Mazembe to a 4-0 win over Soger in a Linafoot match played in Lubumbashi on Monday afternoon.

With the new coach Hubert Velud taking charge of his first match for the African Club Champions, the pressure was on the Frenchman to deliver.

With a host of TP Mazembe stars yet to report back including Chipolopolo captain Rainford Kalaba and some away on international duty for DR Congo in Rwanda for CHAN tournament, Kabaso Chongo got a rare start at right back and completed the match while both Singuluma and Nathan Sinkala started on the bench.

Another CHAN 2009 hero Jonas Sakuwaha, who has returned to TP Mazembe from a season loan at Zesco United didn’t not make the match day squad.

On the pitch, Mazembe was just leading 1-0 and six minutes after the hour mark, Velud decided to send Singuluma in the holding midfield role and the former Bay United, National Assembly and Zanaco top man made an instant impact and scored the second goal before setting up the third.

Sinkala was introduced and this allowed Singuluma to shift to the left flank, and Mazembe wrapped it up with an injury time goal.

Next is the mini Lubumbashi derby against Don Bosco on Thursday.
