Sichone likely to make some big calls this evening

Chipolopolo Boys head coach Moses Sichone is likely to make some big calls this evening as the Copper Bullets face off with Morocco in their final AFCON 2025 Group A encounter.

The ZamFoot Crew understands that Sichone could make some big calls dropping some big names to the bench in a ‘hail-mary’ attempt to secure qualification to the next round.

Wingers Fashion Sakala and Lameck Banda who were withdrawn in the goalless draw against Comoros could be dropped to the bench or at least one of them.

Sichone has already made some bold decisions in the past like starting David Simukonda in place of Miguel Chaiwa in the Comoros game.

He has also started youngster Mathews Banda in both games despite having more experienced players on the bench.

FC Cagliari  Calcio midfielder Joseph Liteta could start his first game at the tournament in midfield joining Klings Kangwa.

David Hamansenya and Obino Chisala are other players who could be thrown into the deep end against the Atlas Lions.

Sichone could also switch up the formation as he looks to get a result by any means necessary to keep Zambia in the continental showpiece.

Zambia and Morocco will meet this evening in the last Group A fixture of the Africa Cup of Nations. Morocco top the group with four points, Mali and Zambia are level on two points each, while Comoros have one.

The Chipolopolo are chasing their first AFCON victory since lifting the trophy in 2012.

The decisive Group A clash will kick off at 21:00 CAT at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in the Moroccan capital, Rabat.
