Zambia Under twenty national team striker Edward ‘Tiger’ Chilufya has boarded the bus to Lumwana in the Northwestern province of Zambia instead of the plane to Sweden.
Chilufya who is the top scorer in the current Zambia U20 national team and has been the biggest revelation this year was handed an invitation to attend trials for a month at Swedish top flight side Djurgardens IF.
A ZamFoot source confirmed that Tiger has not travelled to Sweden as expected and he seems to be headed to Lumwana.
“It’s drama on this case, Mpande Academy (his club) have been trying to call the boy but his is not even picking their calls. He is AWOL as far as they are concerned” a source close to the development mentioned to the ZamFoot Crew.
“I mentioned to you when the invitation for Sweden was received that there was a possibility that he would head to Lumwana and it has happened,” he added.
Zambianfootball.co.zm reported in March that their was a possibility that Tiger would follow his national team coach to Lumwana despite offers from Europe pouring in.

The Swedes were more than impressed with his performance at the Adidas Korea Four Nations Invitation tournament where he measured a goal in each game.
He also emerged joint top scorer on four goals at the 2017 U20 Africa Cup of Nations helping Zambia to the title.

Shocking or smart? With the World Cup coming. He may get a better offer from a better league and may elite division.
Agree with you, we always ask the boys to tekanya and I like what the young man has done. Maybe Chambeshi knows the kid needs more work to improve on and that better things are to come and he listened to his coach who has the best interests in him not all those that wants to fatten their pockets. Good for him and good luck. Better teams will come calling without having to go through the useless trials.
zamfoot which player has taken golden booty is it daka, tiger or the boy from south Africa
Luther from SA
Who knows, may be the boy just wants to sharpen his goal-scoring instincts further on a platform he’s already accustomed to before leaving. The problem with Zambian players is that they are forced to sign contracts with overseas based clubs before they are ready. They are supposed to be household names before going overseas. What next! Their careers flop and we start calling them all sorts of names when they come back home.
GUD SAID,I AGREE WIT U .HE KNOWS WAT HEZ DOIN.
JBS, its the boy from south africa, he had the same number of goals with Patson, but he got the Golden boot because he had more assists.
u know wat Chisanga I thought Golden booty bapela kuli winning team for ristance in 2012 Afcon drogba had 4 goals n Mayuka also had 4 goals but they gave Golden booty to mayuka bcoz Ali kuli winning team
it may be the right decision. Mr. Chambeshi is a parent hopefully he is advising the young lad to take the right way. The young man has proved to be consistent in his performance hope he will do more at the world cup to attract better offers
Thumbs up
so ba Beston chambeshi you want the boy to join lumwana radiants through the backdoor. just Do the right thing, talk to his coach mpande Lisborn, the one who groomed the boy
Ba Zamfoot weren’t u the one confirming a few weeks ago that he is off to Sweden and had even declined an offer to go to Celta Vigo. …u should get serious
May not be a bad idea as long as Lumwana is only a temporary destination and someone is working in the background to get the boy to a better country and league. The boy is hot property him going to Sweden was questionable. Their football is very basic.
Am sure he will still go to Europe he only wants to taste Premier League Football. Come the transfer window in June he should be on his way out of Zed. We must also remember that it is easy to talk him out of this move as any contract he signs at the age of 17 is null and void and he can easily walk away for nothing. So ba Muzo be on the look out and ensure the best interest of Tiger and Zed are well taken care of bearing in mind that he is not leagaly obliged to sign a contract of employment under FIFA rules.
Why travel to Sweden to attend trails now when the under20 world cup is around the corner. Very good move indeed
By the way which Zambian player has played and done well in Sweden? Edwin Phiri and Boyd Mwila failed
Yes to me its not shocking, Ba Mpande should have been in the forefront advocating the boy to wait for the big event but the contrary, am disappointed. Let us groom the kids first and money later. Job well don young lad you have room for other teams to chase for your signature.
If the story is true, it seems Coach Chambeshi may have a hand in it but we dont know the details. We can only appeal to those involved in the boy’s affairs to do what is best for his progression.
Yes tiger wait until after world Cup,folks were is John?John my man were are you maybe this guy Is in prison
I work for lumwana,I watched prosper,Edward training comfirmed lumwana player.Us for Edward chembashi said the boy his going to b with lumwana radian for 6month only until he reaches 18 years for him to go out of zambian to europe
Thanks ba Bin Laden for the data. ….even though u are a terrorist we won’t beat u up because u have given useful information the useless Zamfoot didn’t have . Assalaam Walekum
And so the expected drama begins…no Kalu involved this time, lol
@ Logic, Kalu is out of football! And is not missed, wat is yo problem? Fifa, Caf, Faz, Luapula league! All better off without him.kikikikiki
Kalu’s shady dealings with players is well documented so anybody with half a brain would know what my comment was in reference too. And if you understood very basic English, you would see that my comment was a tongue in cheek jab at all those who blamed the FAZ confusion on Kalu. And lastly I would advise your ignorant behind to think before you call people failure when you have zero clue as to who they are and what they do. I can take care of both you and the crooked Kalu you referenced son! Take a seat somewhere instead of parading your lack of manners in public…you are embarrassing yourself.
Beston chambeshi is behind this.
Shocking indeed, whilst his team mates are heading to Europe he is headeingto interior africa.
Very stupidy indeed. This was a real opportunity . Fortune knocks only wants at a man’s door in life. The boy will regret for snubbing swedish trials. The same thing happened to a number of players who were ill advised by useless coach who are after exploiting them . The class of 2007 participated at the world cup and noone struck a deal. If the boy is good better clubs will still get him from sweeden. This is the next emmanuel zulu.
Guys understand one thing chilufya is 17 years at this age he cant get to europe until he is 18 years old,And instead of him staying at the academ chambeshi decide to give him experience in premier by the time the boys turns 18 years thats when he can go to europe. And remember europe its 18yrs and above only.Let the boy get experience for 6 month before he goes to europe
Thans brother my brother soccerguru for sparing me.Let give chambeshi credit and the boy chilufya for following his coach cause his going to give the boy game time in this 6 month before going to europe
Let us wait and see,the world cup is around the corner we might not know Real madrid, bayern, barcelona,Chelsea,Dortmund,Atleti,Psg etc can spot the boy.He is destined for the better team and a better leage.
The boy was invited for trials not to sign a contract.
The boy was invited for trials not to sign a contract. Assuming the boy had gone and impressed they will put their offer on the table. A bird in hand worth two in the bush. A player can go to europe at an age bellow 18. These european clubs they have under 19 teams full of foreigners. Let the boy go. Chambeshi deprived the young star the opportunity to play better football.
I feel if he had attended those trials in sweden and he was not signed, his morale was going to go down and consequently affect his performance.Lumwana is not a bad destination either since the boy is still learning the ropes not disregarding his huge talent and potential.Who knows with the world cup around the corner he might just catch the next big fish in the pond.
thers nothing smart about this move. our players lack ambition. the world cup will av nothing to offer in terms of player progresion
