Zesco United will face South African Premier Soccer League side Royal AM in the preliminary stage of CAF Confederations Cup.
The Durban based side will host Zesco United in the first leg next week on Friday before a travelling to Ndola a week later for the second leg.

This is their second season in the South African Premiership having a licence from Bloemfontein Celtic in 2021.
How did they qualify for Confederations Cup?
Royal AM finished last season third and South Africa having four continental slots, it guaranteed them a place in CAF’s second tier club competition.

Who did they beat in the previous round?
While Zesco United were given a bye in the previous round, Royal AM had Eswatini side Mbabane Highlanders in their way.
Having played out to a goalless stalemate in the first leg in Mbabane, Royal AM won 2-0 at home to book a date against the 2016 CAF Champions League semi finalists.

League form – 4th on the log
They have played eight league games this season, winning four and losing three [ v Sundowns, Pirates, Richard Bay].
On the log, they are fourth with 13 points while leaders Sundowns are on 19 points.
