Saileti urges Kansanshi players to change their mindset

Following the release of the 2025/26 MTN Super League fixtures, Kansanshi Dynamos FC Head Coach Zeddy Saileti has welcomed the announcement, describing it as a critical moment for shaping the team’s final pre-season preparations.

The Solwezi-based side, newly promoted from the National Division One, will kick off their campaign with a home fixture against Kabwe Warriors on August 16 at Independence Stadium.

Speaking shortly after the fixture drop, Coach Saileti acknowledged the significance of this moment, not just for logistical planning, but for setting the right tone ahead of a demanding season.

“I’m happy the fixture is already out. It gives us a platform to prepare properly as a team. Pre-season is not just about fitness; it’s about mentally preparing the players for the demands of the Super League. They need to understand that this is a higher level of competition and be ready for it,” he said.

With a challenging start that includes away trips to Sunset Stadium and Shinde Stadium, Saileti stressed the importance of adapting quickly and embracing the expectations of top-flight football.

“The mindset of the players has to change. They must realize they are no longer in the lower league. This is the Super League, where every team fights for points. The level of competition is much higher, and we need to compete with the same energy, focus, and discipline.” Coach Saileti adds.

Kansanshi Dynamos’ early run of fixtures includes notable tests: a week-two away tie against Zanaco FC, a nostalgic return to Arthur Davies Stadium in week-four to face Mutondo Stars, where Saileti once coached, and a week-three home clash against fellow promoted side Konkola Blades.

“We’re not singling out teams. Every game will be a battle. In the Super League, there are no easy fixtures. The key is preparation and the players understanding their roles at this level.” He said.

Saileti also revealed that the technical bench is actively assessing squad depth, particularly in key areas like goalkeeping.

“We might need to strengthen in a few departments, especially in goalkeeping. It’s a long season, and depth is crucial,” he noted.

After a successful campaign in the National League that earned them promotion, the Mabanga Boys are now determined to make their mark and establish themselves in the Super League. Under this season’s rallying cry, “Unified We Succeed”, the team is focused on building a strong, cohesive unit ready to take on Zambia’s best.

“The league is competitive, and that’s good for us. It pushes us to stay sharp. We want to make sure Kansanshi Dynamos is here to stay.” Saileti concluded.
