Zimbabwe national team coach Sunday Chidzambwa has unveiled his 23 man squad for the Africa Cup Of Nation and Zanaco FC attacking midfielder Tafadzwa Rusike and Lusaka dynamos defender Denis Dauda have missed out on the list of players traveling to Egypt for the AFCON. Power Dynamos defensive kingpin Jimmy Dzingai, on the other hand, has been named in the squad.
Rusike was part of the Warriors team which was in South Africa for the just ended COSAFA Cup. He missed the opening two games against Comoros and Zambia due to injury, he then made his return in the game against Lesotho. He scored the opener in that match which later went on to end 2-2 and Zimbabwe won on penalties.
Tafadzwa Rusike was a very key component to the Zanaco set up, the club depended on his creativity and he didn’t disappoint. He managed to score 8 goals for the Bankers along the road. Dauda was also a key member of the Lusaka dynamos squad.
While Power Dynamos defender Jimmy Dzingai will be with the team in Egypt as he was named on the team list. He came on as a substitute in s friendly game against Nigeria which was played in Asaba, Delta State Nigeria.
Dzingai was Power Dynamos top scorer in the ended season despite missing some games due to injury. The towering defender was excellent for Aba Yellow throughout the season, his aerial ability is one of his strength.
