Zambian youngster Ricky Chanda has joined Lithuanian side FK Riteriai, the club has announced.
The club confirmed the development on their official website. The acquisition of the Zambian youngster will bolster the Knights’ defensive line.
According to the club’s website the former Zambia U17 international youth international has already proven with his work that he is worthy of staying in the team following a successful assessment period.
“Ricky is a young player who has the potential to grow to play at a higher level. Very diligent in training, does not avoid contact, has the right mentality and attitude for daily hard work.
He seems to live by the phrase that hard work and dedication can achieve more than talent without hard work. It will be very interesting to watch his game and his progress”, said Sporting Director, Vytautas Masaitis.
He previously played for City of Lusaka before a move to Rzeszów Stal in Poland where he played for the Youth Team.
“I am happy to join a new team that has a clear vision and clear goals. The first impressions are good, it remains to transfer those impressions to the field,” said the 19 year old.
The defender becomes the second acquisition for the “Knights” during this season. Dutch-Surinamese midfielder Roscello Vlijter joined the team a few weeks ago.
Riteriai play in the Pirma Lyga, the second tier of professional Lithuanian football championship.
