Kitwe based SuperLeague side Power dynamos have revealed that they were in talks with former Mamelodi Sundowns, Cape Town City and Bloemfontein Celtic Midfielder to try and help him rekindle his career but the two could not agree on personal terms.
According to a statement from the Power dynamos media department which was accessed by the ZamFoot Crew, The 26-year-old midfielder actually approached the club to try and strike a deal in order to rekindle his career.
“Former Power Dynamos midfielder Mukuka Mulenga approached the Club to be given an opportunity to rekindle his football career but the two parties could not find a common ground regarding personal terms.” Read part of a statement from Power dynamos.
According to a ZamFoot Crew source close to the Ndeke based club, Mukuka wanted K150 000 as a signing on fee but the club felt it was a bit too high hence the deal could not materialize. He has since started training with Power dynamos cross-town rivals, Nkana.
Mulenga who is nicknamed Deco was a key part of the Power dynamos side that won the league back in 2011. He was voted as the Superleague player of the year in 2012 and also won the 2013 COSAFA Cup under Herve Renard.
He then made his switch to the South Africa PSL joining Mamelodi Sundowns. At Sundowns Mukuka struggled to establish himself and was sent out on loan to Bloemfontein Celtic for the 2014/15 season.
In 2016 he was again sent on loan to Mpumalanga Black Aces ( now Cape Town City) having been deemed surplus to requirements at the Brazilians.
Mukuka has been without a club since leaving Sundowns and media reports indicated that he had retired from football last year to focus on Business following medical advice.
