The Football Association of Zambia(FAZ) has announced the dates for the 2019 FAZ Women’s League Championship.
The four teams who will participate in the tournament that will start at the semifinal stage have been drawn across 4 different regions and will square-off on Saturday 14th March 2020 in the semi-finals while the final will be played the following day 15th March 2020 at Lusaka’s Nkoloma Stadium to determine the overall 2019 Women’s League Champion.
According to a letter availed to the ZamFoot Crew from FAZ through The General Secretary Mr. Adrian Kashala which was addressed to the four(4) teams who were 2019 champions in their respective regions, namely; Green Buffaloes Women Football Club, Indeni Roses, Queens Academy, and Solwezi Academy are the clubs that qualified to the Women’s Championship to decide the 2019 Champions.
The semi-finals will be played as a doubleheader on Saturday 14th March 2020 with the first match slated to Kick-off at 13:00hrs and will be followed by the second match at 15:15hrs.
However, there will be no third and fourth play-off match, with only the two(2) winners in the semi-final locking horns with each other in the final which will be played the following day which is 15th March 2020 and Kick-off is 15:00hrs.
The draws for the championship will be held at 11:00hrs on Friday 6th March 2020 At Football House.
In an event of the semi-finals ending in a draw, the match shall go direct to penalties whereas in the final there will be an extra of 15 minutes each half to be played and if the scoreline will remain the same then the match will be decided on penalty shootouts.
All matches will be played at Nkoloma Stadium.
