The race for the remaining slots for the 2025/26 ZPL National League will take concrete shape this afternoon when the draws are conducted at Football House.
Ten provincial champions for the men and women leagues will know their opponents today. The teams will be drawn in groups of five, with the top two being promoted to the National League.
The stakes are high with four slots up for grabs in the men’s and women’s categories.
In the men’s category, there will be Roan United (Copperbelt), Solwezi Academy (North Western), Makeni All Stars (Lusaka), Muchinga Blue Eagles (Muchinga) and Mathkat United (Luapula).
The rest are Machacha Soccer Academy (Central), Barts FC (Southern), Teta FC (Northern), Nangweshi Pirates (Western) and Chipata City Council (Eastern).
In the ladies category, the participants are Kwacha Queens (Copperbelt), Kalumbila Queens (North Western), Young Green Buffaloes Girls (Lusaka), Mwenzo Queens (Muchinga) and Chipembele Police Queens (Luapula).
Others are Bwacha Pirates Queens (Central), Pemba Queens (Southern), Young Mu Sports Academy Queens (Northern), Mulauli Academy (Western) and Valley Queens (Eastern).
Matches will be played at Edwin Imboela and Lusaka Municipal Sports Club (Munis) in Lusaka.
The play-offs will run from June 17-21 in Lusaka.
