The curtain closed on the second tier of Zambian football, The National Division One on Sunday afternoon with Prison Leopards winning promotion while Kafue Eagles, Young Green Buffaloes and Chipata United were relegated.
Match day 34 came with a number of exciting fixtures and a few teams’ fate still hanging in the balance at both ends of the league table.
On the top end, It was Trident, Prison Leopards and Riverplate fighting for promotion with one slot up for grabs.
It was Prison Leopards who won promotion to join Konkola Blades, Kansanshi Dynamos, and Mine United as the teams promoted to the MTN Super League.
Leopards beat Chambishi 4-2 with Emmanuel Chabula netting a brace which included a stunner as they returned to the topflight. Landu Miete and Wilmore Haatembo scored a goal each.
The Collect Boys benefitted from Trident failing to beat Aguilar Stars as they played to a goalless draw while Riverplate played to a 2-2 draw with Chipata United.
At the Bottom of the table Kafue Eagles, Young Green Buffaloes and Chipata United relegated.
Kafue Celtic escaped the drop with a 4-2 win over Kafue Eagles. Zambia U17 National team defender Jonathan Kalimina scored a brace while Chipo Manda and Lawrence Daka scored a goal each.
