Pre-season Friendlies: Arrows defeated by Russian side; Kalampa held

Zambia Super League side Red Arrows lost 2-1 to Russian Premier League side FC Ufa in a friendly match played in Valencia, Spain on Saturday.

Former Lumwana Radiants and Kabwe Warriors forward Josphat Kasusu grabbed his second goal in as many games.

On Wednesday, the airmen played to 1-1 draw against Swiss side FC Langerthal.

The Bruce Musakanya captained side are expected in the country at the end of the week

Zambian glamour side Kalampa came from a goal down to force a draw against Kenyan side Gor Mahia in a friendly match played on Saturday morning.

On loan striker Festus Mbewe scored for the Kitwe giants.

Coach Beston Chambeshi started with the trio Mbewe, Walter Bwalya and Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba in attack.

Shadreck Musonda, Jacob Ngulube, Diego Apanene and John Mwengani all started while the veteran duo Joseph Musonda and Simon Bwalya had to be contend with a place

Nkana had a host of chances but failed to find the back of the net.

Kalampa will return to Zambia on Tuesday and set camp in Lusaka ahead of the Samuel Zoom Ndhlovu Charity Shield on Saturday.

They will immediately fly to North Africa for a CAF Confederations Cup first leg tie.
