Power Dynamos bounced back from a disappointing CAF Confederations Cup outing in Gabon where they were battered to win 3 – 0 at home against promoted Lusaka Dynamos.
Alex Ngonga continues to to show that he will be key in Power’s season and as he opened the scores in the 33rd minute with Jimmy Ndhlovu and substitute Ignitious Lwipa contributing a goal each.
Champions Zesco started the defence of the title on a sound note with a 2 – 0 win over visiting Napsa Stars.
Winstone Kalengo and Cletous Chama were the two goal scorers.
Green Eagles beat Green Buffaloes 1 – 0 in Choma to go top of the log on 6 points. Adamson Mulawo’s goal was the difference between the two teams on the day.
At Nkoloma Stadium Red Arrows will have Danny Munyao to thank after he saved from the spot to deny Nchanga Rangers an away victory as the two teams drew 1 – 1.
Arrows were the first to score after Francis Kombe took advantage of some uncertain defending by Rnagers to scramble the ball home.
Rangers however replied almost immediately through hardworking Fashion Sakala.
Aubrey Chamulwanda’s penalty was saved by Munyao.
Mighty Mufulira Wanderers were deserving winners when they beat Nkwazi 1 – 0 through an Eric Chibuye goal.
Zanaco were also 1 – 0 victors at Forest Rangers with Matthews Macha scoring the lone goal of the match.
Nkana were held to a goalless draw at Konkola Blades.
