Kitwe Giants Power Dynamos are on their way to Lusaka and they are expected to set up a 13-day training camp in the capital city as they embark on a journey in preparation for the upcoming 2020-21 MTN/FAZ Super League Season which is scheduled to Kick-off this month with the traditional curtain-raiser of the Samuel Zoom Ndhlovu Charity Shield between 2019-20 Super League Champions Nkana and Division One winner Indeni gracing the return of football under the new normal on 24th October 2020 on the Copperbelt Province.
A 22-member squad which is led by team captain Lameck Kafwaya alongside his deputy Luka Chamanga is comprised of the majority of players who featured for the Yellow Submarine last season with the likes of new signings like Spencer Sautu from Green Eagles also making the trip to Lusaka.
Coach Perry Mutapa has kept faith in his lads who were a marvel to watch from the time he took charge at Arthur Davis Stadium. Mutapa will hope to continue from where the team left last season and he will be hoping to fight and contend for the title and probably secure continental spot.
However, according to a report monitored by the ZamFoot Crew, the trio of Jimmy Dennis Dzingai, Dominic Phiri, and Jacob Phiri has left the club on mutual separation while the quartet of Titus Kassim Glover, Martin Kayuwa, Zindaba Banda, and Jackson Mulambia have been loaned out.
Titus Kassim Glover joins newcomers Indeni who were Champions of the FAZ/EDEN University National Division 1 League, Martin Kayuwa, and Zindaba Banda have both been loaned to Nchanga Rangers while Jackson Mulambia will be featuring for Trident FC in North-Western Province.
Goalkeeper Jackson Kakunta, Defenders Kondwani Chiboni, new signing Zachariah Chilongoshi as well as Midfielders Benson ‘America’ Sakala and Godfrey Ngwenya will likely join the team after their National Team assignments.
Clifford Saidi and Allan Kamwanga Jnr are still out injured and haven’t traveled with the team.
While in Lusaka, The Yellow Submarine are expected to play several friendly matches as this will allow the technical bench to assess their team and players in readiness for the upcoming season before they return to their base in Kitwe.
