Power go second after beating Nakambala

Power Dynamos shot back into second position on the MTN FAZ Super League log with a 2 – 0 win over a 10 man Nakambala Leopards side in a match played at Arthur Davies Stadium.

Power found the back of the net on either side of the half with Martin Phiri continuing his fine form of creating and scoring goals this time scoring in the 40th minute. Nakambala goalkeeper Moses Mapulanga who was eventual man of the match parried a Julius Situmbeko free kick into the path of Phiri who made no mistake from close range.

Power captain Emmanuel Chimpinde scored the second goal of the match when he headed in a Situmbeko cross at the back post.

Nakambala tried to threaten through former international Signs Chibambo but all hope was lost when Floyd Phiri was sent off for a second bookable offence.

In all it was a chic performance by the title contenders against a side second from bottom.

The win takes Power to 42 points, 4 behind leaders Zesco United.

Power will next play away against Mufulira Wanderers.

Proud with the way we played. They didn’t need the referee to help them to win…. with some of his decisions. Otherwise the worst result could have been a draw
