Asante Kotoko request authorities to give fans half day for Zesco clash

Asante Kotoko is aiming to beat Zesco United at Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi in a CAF Confederation group stage match to be played on the 13th February. The Ghanaian club started their campaign on a bad note as they were narrowly beaten by Sudanese Al Hilal Omdurman.

Kotoko coach C.K Akunnor who was addressing the media today, has urge his players to use home advantage and promised that his player will dig deep to collect maximum points.

“Zesco United won their first match and we’re also looking forward to winning our first match here on home soil ”

“There’s the need for us to win our home matches if we want to go far in the competition. we’re looking forward to the match against Zesco. We know it’s a tough one, but we’re convinced it’s winnable”

“It’s about talking to the players, exercising and practicing on the ways we can defend well. Most of them are individual errors which we can easily correct by getting the lads to play as a team and defend very well and as a unit when off the ball.”

The club management has also asked authorities to allow fans on the day of the match to knock off early from work so that’s they can cheer the boys. It will be a very intimidating atmosphere for Zesco United with over 40000 fan in red cheering their team.

The two teams clash on Wednesday 13th February at 15.00hrs
