POLICEMEN HOLD POWER… AS MUTAPA CASTIGATES ‘BUMPY’ EDWIN IMBOELA STADIUM

Police outfit Nkwazi Football Club on Saturday played out to a goalless draw with Power Dynamos at the Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka.

Nkwazi head coach Dennis Makinka expressed happiness with the draw as he was left satisfied with the result.

“I first want to thank God, for the wisdom and the strength, playing Power Dynamos was difficult but just before the Halftime break, we made a tactical change cause we saw that Larry Bwalya was playing a free row. We had to introduce another midfielder to congest the midfield but we managed to keep Larry Bwalya quiet in the second half. I am happy with the draw as it is a step in the right direction considering we are coming from a loss,” Makinka told the ZamFoot Crew.

Power Dynamos gaffer Perry Mutapa, on the other hand, blamed the ‘bumpy’ Edwin Imboela Stadium for the draw.

Mutapa complained that his side could not string passes together because of the poor state of the pitch.

“It is difficult to play football in such a bumpy pitch, cause we could not control the ball as we love too. We really wanted to win this game but it was difficult. The Nkwazi players were delaying the ball cause they are happy with the draw, the winner today was Nkwazi and we have dropped two valuable points. This is not the pitch we could not have wanted to play on but what can we do, it is the home of Nkwazi, we tried to play a different game which we are not used to and it did not work,” Mutapa said.

The draw keeps Nkwazi on 13th place two points above the relegation places while Power Dynamos remain in 9th position with 27 points, 16 off the continental places with 9 games to go.
