Players Abroad Wrap: Barbra Banda injured, Kundananji captains Bay

Copper Queens skipper Barbra Banda sustained an injury and was subbed off 15 minutes into Orlando Pride’s 0-0 away draw to leaders Kansas City Current in the NWSL.

Compatriot Prisca Chilufya played the first hour of the match while midfielder Grace Chanda was not part of the Orlando matchday squad for the seventh game in a row.

After a four-match winless run, the champions Orlando find themselves third on the table with 28 points from 16 matches. They are 12 points behind leaders Kansas City.

Elsewhere, Copper Queens forward Racheal Kundananji captained Bay FC for the first time as they lost 2-1 at home to San Diego Wave.

Bay are 10th on the NWSL table after amassing 17 points from 16 games.

DENMARK

AFCON Under-20 winning forward Edward Chilufya Junior was not in the FC Midtjyland squad due to suspension. However, Midtjyland went on to beat Velje 2-0 in their Danish Super League encounter.

Midtjyland have amassed nine points from five matches, three points behind leaders FC Copenhagen.

SCOTLAND

Former under-17 national team captain Miguel Changa Chaiwa made his debut, playing ninety minutes for the Hibernian side that beat Livingston 2-0 in a Scottish League Cup match.

Hibernian advance to the quarterfinals and will face giants Rangers next month.
