Players abroad : Mwepu and Mwinde find the back of the net

Zambian players abroad were in action over the weekend with different results being recorded. Enock Mwepu and Emmanuel Mwinde found the back of the net.

In South Africa, Justin Shonga had a slow evening on Saturday as he registered just seven passes in the Soweto derby but still played 85 minutes of the 1-1 draw that saw the buccaneers fight back to rescue a point. Augustine Mulenga came from the bench to put in an impressive 29 minute shift.

 

Former Zanaco midfielder Salulani Phiri put in a 80 minute shift on Friday but was on the end of a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

Former Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda’s Baroka failed to hold a 2-1 one lead and only managed a point after second half equaliser by Bloemfontein Celtic to end the match 2-2.

Defensive Kingpin Billy Mutale put in a full 90 minute shift for Supersport United in this 3-2 win over Golden Arrows . Striker Gamphani Jones Lungu was an unused substitute.

Former Nkana captain Donashano Malama was an unused substitute for Chippa United in third two nil win over relegation threatened Free State Stars.

Chipolopolo first choice goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene and his Mamelodi Sundowns team had a free weekend will face Asec Mimosas on Wednesday in a CAF Champions League. Musonda Mwape and his Black Leopards also and a free weekend.

In Tanzania, Midfield ace Clatous Chota Chama set up a goal as Simba SC recorded a big 3-0 win over Mwandui FC in league fixture. Next up for Chama and his team mates is a tricky CAF Champions League encounter against Al Ahly.

In DRC, The trio of defender Kabaso Chongo and midfielders Rainford Kalaba and Nathan Sinkala had an off weekend and are currently in Tunisia preparing for tomorrows CAF Champions League encounter against Club Africain.

In Austria, Enock Mwepu scored the opener as Redbull Salzburg beat Vorwärts Steyr 3-2 in a friendly match on Friday. Patson Daka watched from the terraces.

In Belgium, Striker Fashion Sakala came from the bench to play the last 29 minutes and help KV Oostende rescue a point at Sporting Charleroi.

In Israel, Under-20 striker Emmanuel Mwinde scored his fourth goal in six games but his Maccabi Petah Tikva U19 suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Maccabi Tel Aviv U19.

Defender Emmanuel Mbola and his Bnei Sakhnin team mates will face Maccabi Tel Aviv in a league fixture this evening.

In France, Stophila Sunzu put in a full 90 minutes shift as his Metz side and Lens played to a barren draw.

Midfield ace Emmanuel Banda put in a 54 minutes shift in AS Benziers goalless draw against Sochaux

In Poland, Winger Lubambo Musonda put in 69 minutes for his new club Śląsk Wrocław who beat Zagłębie Sosnowiec on his debut.

In Spain, Striker Barbara Banda put in a 90 minute shift for EDF Logroño who suffered a one nil loss at the hands Granadilla Tenerife.

In Russia Evans Kangwa and his Arsenal Tula played to a one all draw with Swedish side Kalmar FF.
