Players abroad- Lubambo and Banda on Target

A number of Zambian players abroad were in action this midweek and posted mixed results with Emmanuel Banda and Lubambo Musonda finding the back of the net.

In DRC, Nathan Sinkala and Kabaso Chongo put in a full ninety minute shift while Rainford Kalaba played the first 70 minutes for TP Mazembe who recorded a narrow one nil win over Maniama Union.

In Armenia, Winger Lubambo Musonda’s 18th minute strike was all that Gandzasar Kapan needed to book a place in the final of the Armenian cup.

Kapan won the tie 2-1 on aggregate after a one all draw in the first leg. They will face the winner Banants and Alashkert.

In Austria, Midfield ace Enock Mwepu replaced Amadou Haidara in the 30th to play the last 60 minutes for Redbull Salzburg in their UNIQOEFB cup semi-final encounter against SV Mattensberg.

Salzburg won the match 3-0 on post match penalties after it ended nil nil after 90 minutes. They will play the winner between Sturm Graz and Rapid Wien in the final on May 1st.

In Belgium, Midfielder Emmanuel Banda scored the first goal for KV Oostende in their 2-2 draw with Lokeren in a Belgian First Division A Europa play-offs group stages encounter.

In Sweden, Striker Edward Chilufya was an unused substitute for Djurgadens IF who posted a three nil win over Malmo FF in their Allsevnskan encounter at the 33 000 Tele2 Arena.

  1. Lubambo is really game, yet wada, prefers the ZANACO players who can not withstand a Team from Swaziland not mentioning Raja Casablanca who have given then 5 goals without a reply. Am also worried with Mumbas tactics this year, especially that he is at the helm of the chipolopolo under 20. Surly retiring Lubambo at the expense of Wanda’s pride?????? Fax do something with your wada.

    • I think it is time to consider Lubambo. I am happy Mwepu is getting game time with the senior team. This is exactly what i was waiting for. A lot of my eggs are in this boy’s basket.

  2. FAZ fire Wada. He has an inferiority complex towards experienced senior players. He has no idea of how to handle them, so the best for him is to avoid (Shan) them without reason. We can’t afford to sacrifice good results because of one insecure man.

  3. Wada will not call experienced players as long as FAZ handle him with kid cloves on player selection. In most countries the coach is under obligation to disclose the reasons warranting omission of a senior player. Wada here has the audacity to wag the middle figure at Kamanga, like the recent incident when he shunned FAZ summons. One of these days Wada will sendoff Kamanga! Watch this space!
