Players abroad: Barbara Banda nets seventh goal of the season as Kalaba set up a goal in Club Africain humiliation

Zambian players playing their football outside the country were in action over the weekend and had mixed results with Barbara Banda netting her seventh goal of the season while Rainford Kalaba set up a goal as TP Mazembe humiliated Club Africain 8-0.

In DRC, Former Chipolopolo captain Rainford Kalaba set up a goal with a classical heel pass as TP Mazembe made history of recording the biggest victory in the history of the CAF Champions League thanks to a 8-0 humiliation of Tunisian side Club Africain.

Kabaso Chongo continued his good showing putting in a splendid full 90 minute shift while Nathan Sinkala was an unused substitute.

 

In South Africa, Striker Justin Shonga played 89 minutes while winger Augustine Mulenga came from the bench to play the last 20 minutes in Orlando Pirates nil all draw with the defending Champions Esperance sportive de Tunis.

In PSL, Former Chipolopolo boss Wesson Nyirenda’s Baroka FC were held to a 1-1 by Chippa United. Former Nkana captain Donashano Malama was a second half substitute.

Polokwane midfielder Salulani Phiri had an off weekend as their game with Free State Stars was post-poned.

In Austria, Red Bull Salzburg completed their 10 days Portugal training camp with a two nil friendly win over Chinese Cup winners Beijing Guoan thanks to goals from Norwegian pair of Fredrick Gulbradseen and Erling Haaland.

Striker Patson Daka played the first 45 minutes while midfielder Enock Mwepu played the last 45 minutes.

In Belgium, Striker Fashion Sakala came from the bench to play the last 22 minutes as KV Oostende continued on their losing streak succumbing to a 2-0 loss at the hands of Antwerp.

In France, Zambian defensive kingpin Stophila Sunzu was on target for his French Life two side FC Metz who played out to a 1-1 draw with Troyes on Friday Evening.

He however was unfortunate to concede a penalty in the second half to allow Troyes to level matters. Metz remain top of the French life two as at week 23.

Elsewhere Emmanuel Banda and his AS Béziers team mates who desperately need a win face Lens at 21:45 in a League two encounter.

In Poland, Lubambo Musobda and his Śląsk Wroclaw team mates concluded their pre-season campaign with a two nil win over Opava. They will start their Polish Ekstraklasa league campaign against Zagłębie Sosnowiec this Saturday.

In Spain, Zambia Women Football sensation Barbara Banda scored her seventh goal in ten games to help EDF Legroño to a two nil win over Espanyol. The win saw them claw out of the relegation zone.

Barbara has since been nominated for player of the year.

In Russia, Evans Kangwa and his Arsenal Tula team mates suffered a two one loss a friendly match this afternoon at the hands of Kazakhstan side FK Zhetysu Taldykorgan.
