ZESCO Ndola Girls forward Penelope Mulubwa was named as the player of the season at the inaugural ZPL Women’s Super League awards.
Mulubwa saw off competition from teammate Avell Chitundu and Green Buffaloes’ Evarine Susan Katongo to win the biggest prize of the night.
It was a double for Mulubwa who also won the golden boot thanks to her 35 goals for the season.
Katongo on the other hand beat Mulubwa and Red Arrows speedy winger Mary Mambwe for the fans player of the year category.
Zambia U17 captain Mercy Chipasula walked away with the young player of the year award while Annie Namonje got the Golden Glove for the best Goalkeeper of the season.
ZESCO Ndola Girls coach William Zulu was named the coach of the year after leading the Zegalicious Girls to their first ever league title.
Patricia Anna Banda walked away with the referee of the season accolade with Dorcas Chibale winning the assistant referee of the year award.
In the media categories, Victoria Linosi won for TV, Radio went to Jeremiah Chalwe, Print to Chewe Kaliwile while Electronic went to ZamFoot Crew’s Editor in Chief, Aaron Mubanga.
Club media officer of the season went to ZESCO Ndola Girls’ Verita Muyunda with Enerst Mwansa winning the fan of the season.
The late Highness Saili, one of the pioneers of Women’s Football was awarded posthumously with the President’s recognition award.
