Daka will be back for Burnley clash

Leicester City Manager Brenden Rogers has confirmed that Chipolopolo striker Patson Daka will miss this afternoon’s Emirates FA Cup tie against Watford at King Power Stadium.

Daka continues to recover from an injury and is expected back next weekend when the Foxes travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley.

The former Kafue Celtic, Power Dynamos and Redbull Salzburg striker will also miss Tuesday’s clash away at Goodison Park against Everton.

“We’re looking more towards Burnley for him. Hopefully, he’ll be back then,” Rogers said.

This will be the third match that the Zambian international will be missing after sitting out of the 6-3 loss to Manchester City and the 1-0 win over Liverpool due to the same hamstring problem.

Jamie Vardy is also out for up to eight weeks, Jonny Evans has undergone an operation, defenders Çağlar Söyüncü, Ryan Bertrand, James Justin, Boubakary Soumaré, and Luke Thomas are also set to miss the tie.

Rodgers is also waiting on an update on Timothy Castagne and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall too.

Meanwhile Daniel Amartey, Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi and Papy Mendy are also out as they are in Cameroon for the CAF Africa Cup of Nations.

Daka has scored two goals in seven English Premier League appearances and has also chipped in with three assists.

Daka scored in the 4-2 win over Manchester United in October and the 4-0 win over Newcastle United early this month.

Leicester City tackles the Hornets in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup this afternoon with kick-off set at 17:00hrs Central African Time.
