Patson Daka talks settling at Leicester, his song and facing Tottenham

Patson Daka is thrilled to be back in training and excited to get back to the pitch after an injury.

The Chipolopolo forward spoke to Leicester City Football Club TV on his progress so far at the club and the upcoming game against Tottenham Hotspur this evening.

Daka who joined Leicester City in June last year says he is settling well and enjoying his time in Leicestershire but says he is still learning.

“It feels good to be back again. It’s been so great so far. I have had a very great start, a very a good few months,” Daka told LCFC TV.

“I’ve been settling in well. I’m still settling in and adapting and still learning, but so far, I can say I’m heading towards the right direction.”

“I’m the kind of person who will always try to find a positive in every negative situation. Even during that period when I got injured, I felt maybe it was also another opportunity for other guys to play and for me to regenerate, to refocus and work on other things in my game,” he added.

Daka despite only being at Leicester for less than a year already has a song about him and he enjoys hearing it.

“It’s a beautiful song I like it, Really amazing. You know when going on the pitch you hear the fans singing your song, Even in the dressing room I receive it from Kasper (Schmeichel ), Vardy (Jamie), and everyone one,” he said.

In the last game he played away at Anfield he assisted Jamie Vardy and before that he scored and assisted in the 4-0 win over Newcastle United but he has already put that behind him and he is looking forward to today’s game.

“It’s about helping the team, We have stayed several days without playing so again it’s about getting that momentum back from where we left off, It’s about consistency, the past is gone we can’t dwell on those wins, Tottenham Hotspur is what’s next and we are focused on the game and I believe we will do our very best,” he said.

“It’s going to be a tough game, Every game in the Premier League is challenging and unpredictable. You have to expect anything but we are playing at home and the fans will come to give us the extra support we need so we are going to push hard and make sure we get the maximum three points,” he added.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has scored 15 goals in 12 matches against Leicester City but Patson believes the Foxes have what it takes to deal with the English man.

“I’ve watched so many games of the Premier League before I came here,” the former RB Salzburg ace told LCFC TV.

“I have followed quite several players. He’s a great striker. He’s got a very good finishing instinct and he’s going to try to give us a tough time, but we have got people to take care of him.

Patson Daka has a new coach at national team

“We’ve got a team that plays together, we stick together. We don’t have to concentrate on them, we have to concentrate on ourselves. We know the quality that we have in the squad and we just have to use it.”

On the 1-0 win over Liverpool: Fantastic evening, I watched that match, I wish I was on the pitch. A great win, a morale booster for us, to watch the way the guys played it was amazing looking at the previous game, we played against Manchester City just like three days earlier and play against Liverpool and win is very good for our confidence.”

Daka will lead the Leicester City front line as they host Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League tonight with kick set at 7:30 pm (21:30 CAT) GMT.

Daka has scored two goals in seven English Premier League appearances and has also chipped in with three assists.
