Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu on target in Austria

Austrian based duo of striker Patson Daka and midfield ace Enock Mwepu were on target on Saturday afternoon as Redbull Salzburg cruised to a routine 3-0 win over TSV Hartberg.

Enock Mwepu returned to the starting lineup after he was given a bit of rest in midweek as he started from the bench while Patson Daka once again partnered Sekou Koita upfront.

Daka who has scored in every league game so far this season put the ball in the net after seven minutes but had been a fraction offside and the goal was ruled out. Sekou Koita was soon able to celebrate, however, the speedy striker from Mali won a penalty and stood up to take it himself, smashing it in for an early 1-0 lead after 14 minutes of action.

Daka as is tradition this season found the back of the net after Enock Mwepu started a move before pulling the ball back for Sekou Koita who then laid it off for the Zambian forward who made no mistake and made it 2-0 in the 35th-minute to make sure the Jesse Marsch coached side went to the break with a comfortable lead.

In the second half, chances were few and far and were few and far apart but Enock Mwepu sealed the win in the 79th minute with a close-range finish after Patson Daka went on one of his blistering runs to set up the Computer, 3-0 the match finished.

Patson Daka has now scored 11 league goals in as many league games and 18 goals in all competitions in just 20 appearances with five assists to his credit while Enock Mwepu netted only his second league goal and fourth in all competitions.

The 2017 CAF young player of the year was left impressed with the teams’ overall performance despite the bad pitch.
