Chipolopolo striker Patson Daka feels he did not do enough to help Brendan Rodgers’ situation at Leicester City.
This comes after the Irishman was sacked by the Foxes following a string of poor results that has seen the 2015/16 English Premier League Champions drop into the relegation Zone.
Daka was signed by Brendan Rodgers in June 2021 after impressing with Austrian giants Redbull Salzburg.
The Zambian international believes he could have done more to help the man that took him to Leicestershire keep his job.
The Kafue Celtic product is however looking to the future since what has happened already can not be changed.
“The news has just made us all emotional. For me, he was the one who brought me to this club and I feel disappointed and partly responsible as well for what has happened,” he said.
“I feel I didn’t do enough to help him keep his job. What’s done is done. We can’t change it right now.”
“What we have to do is stick together, concentrate and work together as a team to make sure that we stay in the Premier League, which is the target right now,” he added.
Daka has scored four times in the league so far this season, but did go on a run of 10 games without a goal before his strike against Chelsea in City’s last home game.
The EPL WAS A BRIDGE TOO FAR FOR DAKA! For sure he is guilty now, Brendan believed in this chap. It would appear as if marital issues hv impacted his game…..
