Oswald ‘Mourinho’ Mutapa has returned to Nkwazi Football Club after being appointed as the new head coach.
Mutapa will take over from Tenant Chilumba who ditched the club to join ZESCO United as George Lwandamina’s assistant.
Zambia Police took to Social media to confirm the development.
“Police high command has re-engaged coach Osward Mutapa back to Imboela Stadium as head coach of Nkwazi Football Club.
Until his new appointment, Mr Mutapa was an Assistant Superintendent by rank and served as the Zambia Air Force sponsored side Red Arrows Football Club as Technical Director.”
The Inspector General of Police Lemmy Kajoba has tasked coach Mutapa who has been promoted to the rank of Superintendent to ensure that Nkwazi Football Club moves away from the relegation zone in the second round of the 2022/23 season.
Dennis Makinka has also been recalled as 1st Assistant Coach and has also been promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent.
The Inspector General has also promoted 2nd Assistant coach Keegan Phiri to the rank of Chief Inspector while team captain Charles Muntanga and striker Christopher Zulu have been promoted to the ranks of Inspector and Sergeant respectively.
Nkwazi are currently 16th on the log with 17 points from 17 games and will be away to Power Dynamos this weekend as the League resumes.
