Olympics: Copper Queens drawn in Group F alongside Brazil, Netherlands, and China PR

Zambia Senior Women National Team has been drawn in Group F for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics following a draw that was conducted today at the Home of FIFA in Zurich.

The Copper Queens will face Brazil who are making a seventh appearance at the tournament, Netherlands, and China who will set an Asian record with their sixth participation at the biggest sports festival that kicks off in July.

The Copper Queens are currently in camp preparing for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

They started their preparations in November last year when they beat Chile 2-1 before going on to lose 3-1 to South Africa earlier this month.

The Olympics will officially run between 24 July and 9 August 2021, but sporting action kicks off two days before the opening ceremony with preliminary women’s football matches set to light up the occasion for various sports disciplines.

  1. Copper queens have been drawn in a tough group which requires serious preparations in terms of assembling all our best players and engaging the team in competitive friendly games…otherwise if we take things for granted we will be embarrassed!!

  2. Oh my. This group looks tough, but then again; they all look tough. Given that there are only 12 teams, it means you really are up against the best teams in the world. Here’s to the Copper Queens; at least I can watch Zambia in a tournament since the men are on holiday. FAZ needs to really prep the ladies. A camp abroad may be in order and even more friendlies. SO proud of the ladies.
