Official: Patson Daka joins Leicester City

Zambia National team forward Patson Daka national team striker Patson Daka has completed his switch to English Premier League side Leicester City.

Leicester took to social media to confirm the arrival of the Zambian talisman who has been on the radar of several clubs from the top five leagues.

The ZamFoot Crew had earlier reported that Daka, 21 opted to join the reigning FA Cup Champions because they guarantee him game time.

Daka has penned a five-year deal with the 2015–16 English Premier League Champions which will see him stay at King Power Stadium until June 2026.

Daka becomes the fifth Zambian to join an English side. Former Chipolopolo strikers Emmanuel Mayuka and Collins Mbesuma had unsuccessful spells with Southampton and Portsmouth respectively.

Daka scored 68 goals and registered 27 assists in 125 games for the Austrian giants winning four league titles, three Austrian cup titles, and one UEFA Youth League title.

He has been prolific for Salzburg, scoring 34 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions last season, including 27 in 28 league games to help Salzburg to the Austrian title.

    • He is not joining from an African club, he plays already in Europe, Champions league etc. He will be given a work permit

  4. Daka wont be given a work permit/clearance because of Zambias low fifa ranking. those are the rules in England. They have signed him, however they will loan him to another team. In scotland maybe
