Obashi happy to join the best team in Zambia

Nkana’s new acquisition David Obashi has expressed happiness with the move of joining ‘the best’ Zambian club.

The Nigerian forward officially joined Nkana this week and believes it’s a privilege to move to the legendary Scrivener (Nkana) Stadium.

“Wow! First of all I want to thank God Almighty for this opportunity, I feel very happy and he privileged at the same time to be part of this great Club,” Obashi told the club’s media team.

“Nkana is a big Club and the best team so far in Zambia and I am very happy to be part of this great Club.”

Obash went on to thank the coaches and teammates for welcoming him as well as the fans.

The former Lusaka Dynamos player has promised to give his all to the 13 time Zambia Super League Champions.

“I want to say thank you to the coaches, my teammates for the great support they have shown me. It makes me even want to do more for this great Club,” he said.

“I also want say thank you to the great fans of this great Club. The warmth welcome which I have received so far from every supporter is indeed tremendous. I want to say that they will never be disappointed in this great gesture that they have shown me. I promise to give my all for the goodness of the Club and add more strength to the team.”

“Thank you all for welcoming me to the Club, Kalampa. ONE LOVE,” he concluded.

Obash becomes Kalampa’s first signing of the January transfer window. Obash could make his debut this Saturday at Nkana Stadium as they welcome Sensational Zanaco.

Obashi was in fine form for Prison Leopards in the 2020/2021 campaign which saw him score 14 goals with only Friday Samu (15) and Moses Phiri (17) scoring more.
