Kabwe Warriors head coach Mumamba is expected to lead the Chipolopolo Boys at the 2023 COSAFA tournament the ZamFoot Crew understands.
Numba will be in charge of the local team in the absence of Avram Grant who will be attached to the Copper Queens for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Numba is currently in camp with the local squad that has two international friendly matches slated for later this month.
Numba will be assisted by Mwenya Chipepo and Masauso Tembo with Emmanuel Msichili as goalkeeper Coach.
The local Chipolopolo squad will face Kuwait in Egypt on June 12th before taking on Morocco in a second international friendly match.
The two games are part of preparations for the COSAFA Cup which will be hosted in the South African coastal city of Durban from July 5-16.
Zambia will kick off their title defence against Malawi on 6th July at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
Zambia’s second Group B match will be against Comoros on 9th July at the same venue before concluding their matches against Seychelles on July 11th at the Princess Magogo Stadium.

Why is the COSAFA senior tournament always hosted in South Africa? Are there no other capable hosts in the region?
It’s basically about sponsorship. It’s easier to get sponsors within South Africa than in most countries in the southern Aftica.
