Zambian Super League side Kansanshi Dynamos are surprised that FAZ attempted to the club over the delays to complete the Solwezi Independence Stadium.
The rehabilitation works at the stadium is funded by FIFA at a cost of $300, 000.
FAZ has been under pressure in recent works following the poor works done at atleast four stadia save for Chipata’s David Kaunda Stadium.
Following the North Western Provincial AGM which was attended by FAZ supreme Andrew Kamanga, attempts by the Provincial Chairman Arthur Kamuloso to shift the blame has backfired.
“Remarks made by FAZ North Western Provincial chairperson, Mr. Arthur Kamuloso during the Provincial AGM that Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club is to blame for the delay in the completion of Independence Stadium works came as a shock,” Kansanshi Dynamos wrote in a statement.
“We as Kansanshi Dynamos are disappointed. We are the most affected part in this situation and we strongly believe that the statement of shifting responsibility to the institution was made in bad faith.
“We sincerely appreciate the works done on the playing turf. However, 70% of the grass on the said turf germinated from the old beautiful playing surface and only 30% of the planted grass can be observed.
“It is on record that we held several meetings with the provincial FAZ office where we and our sponsors offered to help in order to speed up the completion of the renovation process.
“This proved futile as we kept getting assurances from Provincial FAZ office that there was no need to panic as works were going to be completed within 2-3 months.
“The cost of operating the squad outside Solwezi has been a burden for both players and sponsors,”
