Nkwazi FC secured their MTN Super League status with a hard-fought 1-0 away victory over FC MUZA on Wednesday afternoon.
A first-half penalty from Billy Balanganai Ntumba in the 17th minute proved decisive as Nkwazi collected a vital three points to guarantee survival with one match left to play.
The result leaves only FC Leopards and NAPSA Stars battling to avoid relegation. Leopards must win their final fixture and hope for NAPSA drop points, while the Pensioners only need victory in their last match to preserve their top-flight status.
Meanwhile, ZESCO United recorded an impressive 2-1 away win over relegated Mines United in Kabwe.
Ghanaian forward Elvis Addae handed ZESCO the perfect start with a goal inside the opening minute before Emmanuel Mwanza doubled the lead in the 35th minute.
Mines United pulled one back through Nicholas Chisempele five minutes after the restart, but ZESCO held firm to secure all three points.
The victory lifts ZESCO United to 10th place on 44 points ahead of the final round of fixtures.
In Kabwe, Kabwe Warriors and ZANACO FC shared the spoils after playing out a goalless draw at Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium.
