Nkwazi announce departure of 14 players ahead of 2026 Transition League

MTN Super League side Nkwazi have announced the departure of 14 players as the club reshapes its squad ahead of the 2026 Transition League.

The Lusaka-based club said the changes are part of an ongoing restructuring exercise, with the departures involving loan moves, expired contracts, mutual separation and players returning to their parent clubs.

Among the notable departures is goalkeeper Lukas Mainza, who has joined fellow Super League side Red Arrows on loan.

Carlos Kaoma has completed a move to NAPSA Stars, while Wezzy Kumwenda will spend the upcoming campaign on loan at Nampundwe FC.

Christopher Zulu has also been sent out on loan, joining Chirundu United.

Nkwazi will also part ways with several players whose contracts have expired, including Chabala Kasanda, Boston Muchindu, David Mumba, Enock Simbeye and Gloire Bakafwa.

Henry Chama has left the club following a mutual separation, while David Mumba Majapa, Emmanuel Museka, Harry Milanzi Jr and Joseph Lungu have returned to their respective parent clubs.

The 14 departures are:

  • Lukas Mainza – loan to Red Arrows
  • Carlos Kaoma – joins NAPSA Stars
  • Wezzy Kumwenda – loan to Nampundwe FC
  • Chabala Kasanda – contract expired
  • David Mumba Majapa – returns to parent club
  • Boston Muchindu – contract expired

  • Harry Milanzi Jr – returns to parent club
  • Joseph Lungu – returns to parent club

Nkwazi thanked the departing players for their commitment and contribution during their time at the club and wished them success in their future careers.

The club said it remains focused on strengthening its squad as preparations continue for the 2026 Transition League, which will form part of the new domestic football calendar.
