Zambia Super League topside Nkana has shunned an invitation to play visiting PSL giants Mamelodi Sundowns in a friendly match.
Reports had indicated earlier that Sundowns who are on a preseason tour of Zambia would play the record Zambian champions at Nkana Stadium today (Wednesday) but Zambianfootball.co.zm understands that Nkana turned down the offer to focus on the weekend match against Red Arrows.
However, the weekend match against Red Arrows has also been put off after Red Arrows requested for a postponement as they have five players with the U23 national team.
Nkana have since announced that they will instead play two games against town rivals Kitwe United at KPF today (Wednesday).
The games will kick off at 13:00hrs and 15:00hrs.
Sundowns yesterday beat Mufulira Wanderers 1 – 0 and will tomorrow play Champions Zesco United.

USELESS THINKING BY NKANA FC,THEY ARE JUST SCARED TO BE EMBARASSED BY SUNDOWNS,IT WAS GOING TO BE A MASSACRE 5-0,BRAVO MIGHTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Focus Ba nkana are u sure!!!!
Nkana did well by shuning this good 4 nothing moneylode signdown club they play mweene bcoz they are here in zambia but believe you me when the league starts they will start beaching him, zambian players don’t sign 4 this useless club it will finish you.look at hichani himonde the afcon wining defead were is he now.
Thanks Ba Nkana, Usles Tour They Just Want Us 2 Build Their Team, Why They Havnt Go 2 Uganda Where Their First Choice Goalkeeper Come From? Usles Sundown U Hav Finishd Our First Choice Goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene, Our Last Man In The Line Of Defence H.H & Our Upcoming Midfelder Mukuka Mulenga, Thas Why We Are Not Doing Wel In Africa & We Hav Drops In Fifa Ranking 2 Join Minows.
Mukuka mulenga shuld leave this lion den of a club. why I call it lion den is bcoz talents is been destroyed at this club.moneylod signdown
when the ligue starts they bench mweene for trophless denis onyango who has never been to the africa cup with his usless uganda.
Compare mweene when he was at free state stars and now at moneylod signdown you will see that this club is finishing him.yes they should have gone to uganda were they first choice goalkeeper is coming from.
Whatever reasons they can advance for shunning the invitation makes no sense with me unless their plan could not be changed. All the same I find it awkward when one shuns an international encounter for the lesser encounter like the one they opted for.
Where is the common sense of shunning a high profile friendly and opt to play a struggling division one side?
Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene, Amazulu striker Bornwell Mwape and Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder Mukuka Mulenga are not on the provisional 26-member list named on Wednesday by Janza for the Malawi friendly. However, Janza has summoned his TP Mazembe quartet for the friendly although they will not be available for the Cosafa Cup.
