Lumwana Radiant 2-2 Nkana [Kiaku 17′ Victor Mubanga 73’| Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba 66′, Fred Soutra Tshimenga 86′]
Zambian Super Division Stream B favorites Nkana FC were on Wednesday afternoon held to a 2 – 2 draw by Lumwana Radiants.
Nkana coach Beston Chambeshi made four changes to the team that defended the Charity Shield as he looked to rotate his squad ahead of the crucial CAF Confederation CUp fixture against Zesco United this weekend. Ben Bah and Shadreck Musonda were named in place of Richard Ocran and Harrison Chisala.
‘Kalampa’ who have been active in the Africa during the off season were expected to be on top of their game but it was a tough day at the office for then as they had to twice come from behind to rescue a point away from home.
Defender John Kiaku put the hosts ahead in the 17th minute from the spot. Radiants held on until half time but Nkana equalized in the 66th minute through red hot midfielder Kelvin Kampamba who came on as a substitute.
Victor Mubanga scored the second from Lumwana in the 73rd minute but Nkana remained resilient and leveled matters in the 86th minute through another substitute Fred Tshimenga.
There was still time for more drama in the game as on loan striker Festus Mbewe was shown red with a minute of normal time to play.
